EIGHT THINGS

1. Wood is extraordinarily talented. Junior 6-3 center Ashley Robinson, senior 6-foot forward Rosie Tarnowski and senior 5-11 guard-forward Lisa Strack could probably average 20+ points for most teams in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

2. Wood outscored Germantown Academy 28-16 over the last 12 minutes.

3. Even without injured all-America senior guard Caroline Doty, GA is a very good team. Sophomore guard Maggie Lucas has 51 points in the first two games. Lucas had 12 points with 2 1/2 minutes left in the first half vs. Wood before cooling off.

4. Robinson can be unstoppable. She has an unusual combination of size, quickness and athleticism. But she also disappears at times from the offense, maybe because Wood has so many scorers.

5. Wood played seven against GA. Several of the girls who did not get off the bench could start for decent area teams.

6. Robinson and Tarnowski are a terrific rebounding combination.

7. Wood reserve guard Jen Maxwell had two important baskets in the second quarter to keep the score close.

8. Wood had a large, vocal crowd.
